The duration of this piece responds to the perceptive game it plays with the audience, based on a perpetual absence of contrast. Its form and the way of dealing with sound material is quite influenced by sculpture, in concrete by Tara Donovan’s mass compositions, which are characterized by the imitation of natural shapes and the use of cycle micro-materials.

 

As happens in Donovan’s works, the constant variation plays a fundamental role on the perception itinerary made by the audience; it is lead through sonorous landscapes that seem moving and static at the same time. Therefore, their unceasing evolution process is not very often perceptible into a superficial listening. It invites us to get immersed into a more patient approaching (and, perhaps, more challenging), giving us access to a mental state in which every minimal change might be decisive.
